Jonathan Baumgartner
About
Held Law Firm’s Associate Attorney Jonathan Baumgartner is proud to call Knoxville home—born and raised in the heart of the “Scruffy City.” A lifelong storyteller, Jonathan has been crafting words and building worlds since childhood. Mentors quickly recognized what he already knew: writing isn’t just a skill for him—it’s a calling.
Jonathan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in American History from the University of Tennessee. Driven by a passion for writing and a profound desire to serve others, he continued his journey at the Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law. There, he immersed himself in mediation clinics and completed Rule 31 mediation training—experiences that sharpened both his advocacy and negotiation skills. It was during law school that Jonathan discovered his true professional passion: Wills, Trusts, and Estates.
Today, Jonathan channels his talent for precise, powerful writing into helping clients plan for the future with confidence. He drafts Wills, manages Trusts and Estates, and guides families through probate—resolving disputes with care and clarity to ensure every detail is handled the right way. For Jonathan, estate planning isn’t just paperwork; it’s peace of mind, preserved in writing.
At his core, Jonathan is still a writer—continually refining his craft and using it to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Outside the office, you’ll find him spinning vinyl records, organizing online video game tournaments, serving in his church community, volunteering as an adoption advocate with KAFCAM or spending time with his dog, Ripley.
