Deanna Cooper joined Held Law Firm in September 2023 as she awaits Universal Bar Exam results. Deanna’s career goals are to work with domestic violence survivors and uncontested divorces and to craft estate plans for East Tennesseans. Deanna is also interested in general civil litigation.

Deanna grew up in rural Unicoi County where her ancestors donated the land for the county in 1879. Deanna earned her bachelor’s degree in Child & Family Studies with a concentration in Community Outreach from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 2019. Deanna received her Juris Doctor from Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law in May 2023. While in law school, Deanna served as the Vice Justice of the Watson Jr. Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta, had an article published in the LMU Law Review on child influencers and trust accounts, earned a CALI award in Technology and the Law, and received her provisional law license to represent indigent individuals in Order of Protection court for a semester in Sevier County, Tennessee.

In her free time, Deanna enjoys watching and attending Tennessee Vols and Atlanta Braves athletic events, trying new restaurants in town, her time in Junior League of Knoxville, and spending time with her fiancé, Jake.
