Cherie Barnett Gaines is currently a law student at Lincoln Memorial University’s Duncan School of Law. Her interests include family law, specifically, education law and elder care law.
Cherie began her career in 2001 as a middle school teacher and continued to work in higher education at community colleges and a local university. Cherie’s focus during her time in the educational community was on educational law, particularly laws supporting children who have special needs in public schools.
Cherie has also been a care provider for her aging parents, which has led to her special interest in elder care law.
She has presented research at conference meetings across the country and internationally, and her work can be found in journals such as NASSP Bulletin and in published books.
Cherie is a dedicated, knowledgeable individual and Held Law Firm is so happy to have her on staff. She works tirelessly in every situation.
When she is not working, she loves to spend time with her grandchildren.
